Amber joined YCSA in January of 2023 as the Housing Innovation Manager.  She has worked the last decade for the Town of York as the Director of Code Enforcement and Local Health Officer.  Amber’s varied experience included implementing ordinances on land use and development, as well as collaboration with Town leaders, businesses, and social services to perform Health Officer duties often with those most in need in our community.    

She looks forward to continuing her Health Officer role for the community, while creating and advocating for an increase in affordable housing in Southern Maine.  Amber lives in York with her family which includes a dog and two cats.

Donald has been with YCSA for over ten years. After graduating from USM with a BFA in Studio Art in 2011 and working for a notable gallery in Kennebunk, he decided it was important for him to work for a nonprofit with a mission focused on helping others.
From day one, he knew YCSA was that place. He currently holds title of both Thrift Shop Manager and Operations Manager.

Donald  has lived in Wells with his lovely wife for over 25 years. He is the father of three amazing children and grandfather to seven. 
Donald continues to create art and shows his work throughout New England. “Art has always been important to me and the skills I have learned as an artist has been an integral part of my success at YCSA."

In 2005, the York Food Pantry merged with York Community Service Association. Maureen’s father, Tom Whalen, was the first Food Pantry Manager and her mother, Pat, took over after her father died. Maureen followed in their footsteps as the Food Pantry Manager and now, Community Supper Manager, as well. The Food Pantry has been a big part of her family’s life including her grandchildren.

What a gift to be able to continue the tradition.

A native of NH, Janie has lived in York for over 30 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and has worked with families and elders for most of her professional career.

Janie is deeply committed to the people of York and is incredibly grateful for the love and support the community has for their neighbors.
